Willis Holmes

Willis Holmes 67, of Cotton Plant, passed away on Friday July 25 at his home.

Willis was born September 8, 1957 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Rufus Holmes Sr. and Eva June Holmes.

Willis received his education from the Cotton Plant Public School system. He was a 1975 graduate of Cotton Plant High School.

In his early years, Willis was baptized and became a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church in Cotton Plant.

He was a former employee of American Greeting in McCrory, Wagoner Electric in Brinkley and NipCo Manufacturing in Augusta.

His parents Rufus Holmes Sr and Eva June Holmes; Leanna Pryor, Dimetrius Pitts, and Laura Holmes all preceded Willie in death.

Survivors are: his brothers: Darnell (Jacqueline) Holmes of Broken Arrow, OK; Rufus Holmes Jr. and Bobby Holmes both of Flint, MI; and Larry Holmes of Cotton Plant, AR; his sisters: Doris (Leandra) Davis of Finley, OH; Henrietta Holmes of Flint, MI; and Ruth Esther Holmes of Flint, MI; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8 at 2 P at Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, East Main, and Sycamore Street in Cotton Plant with Reverend Larry Holmes Jr. serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Morning Star Cemetery in Cotton Plant by C.J.
