Willie Edward Burley

Willie Edward Burley, 68 of North Little Rock, formerly of Brinkley, passed away in Monday, July 27 at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System Medical Center in Little Rock.

Willie was born October 29, 1957 in Hughes, Arkansas to Eddie Burley and Margaret Ellis Burley.

Willie was raised in Brinkley and Fargo Communities. He attended Brinkley Public Schools. He was a 1977 graduate of Brinkley High School.

After high school, Willie enlisted in the United States Army and later received an honorable discharge for his service.

Willie was formerly a member of the Kings of First Friday and Men of Fashion local social clubs. He also worked as a fashion model for a short time back in the day.

Willie was employed as a Maintenance Specialist with the LaQuinta Inn Hotels in Little Rock for 10 years. He had previously been employed as a school bus driver with the Little Rock and Brinkley Public School Districts for a total of 20 years.

His parents; Eddie and Margaret Burley, his siblings: Eddie Mae Burley, Joe L. Burley, Lottie Mae Burley Edmond and Mary Lang Clayton; and his God parents: Walter Louis (Iona) Hudson all preceded Willie in death.

Survivors are: his wife of 14 years Lisa M. Burley of Little Rock, AR; sons: Marcus Burley of Sherwood, AR; Michael Burley of Crawfordsville, IN; Marcus Stewart, Jordan Davis and Mark Davis all of Little Rock, AR; three daughters: Shiquita Burley of North Little Rock, AR; Jasmine Davis of Sherwood, AR; and Raven Coleman of Little Rock, AR; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; three sisters: Mildred Lane Hudson and Alice Burley Jones both of Dallas, TX and Myrtle Burley of Little Rock, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening August 7 from 6 PM until 8PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, August 8 at 10 AM at St. Paul Full Gospel Church, 409 North Emmons Avenue in Brinkley with Reverend James Leon Jr. serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Macedonia Cemetery in the Fargo Community with full military honors by C.J.
