William Terry "W.T." Lowery Sr., 89, of Poplar Grove, passed away on Wednesday, January 25 at his home.
W.T. as William was lovingly known, was born August 8, 1933 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to Nina Mae Wembley.
W.T. was raised and attended school in Holly Grove.
W.T. was a founding member of Kingdom Builders Ministries in Holly Grove, where her served as a member of the Deacon board. He was formerly and member of St. Paul AME Church in Holly Grove and Mount Shelby Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell.
W.T. served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 after which he recieved and honorable discharge.
W.T. worked as a Truck Driver for many years before retiring in 1995. He then went to work for the Kiddie Kollege in Holly Grove, where he worked for several years.
His son William T. Lowery Jr., his mother Nina Smith, adoptive parents: Robert and Alice Lowery, Alma Nuttall, a brother Arvester Wembley, sisters: Estella Wembley-Brownlee, Ermaline Brock, Cleo Hunter, Olivia Hicks and Bernice Berkley all preceded W.T. in death.
Survivors are his wife, Pearline Whitfield-Lowery of Poplar Grove, AR; his Kingdom Builders Ministries Family of Holly Grove and surrounding areas and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon February 5 at 2 PM at Kingdom Builders Ministries, 400 North Pine Street in Holly Grove with Pastor Adrian Tabb officiating. Interment will full military honors will take place at Mount Shelby Cemetery in Marvell by C.J.
