Wilbert Thomas

Wilbert Thomas, 62, of Cordova, Tennessee, formerly of Brinkley passed away on Saturday evening January 4 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tennessee.

Wilbert was born on August 7, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois to Elijah Thomas Sr. and Dorothy Mae Tucker-Thomas.

Wilbert attended the Brinkley School District in Brinkley, Arkansas.

Growing up as a child, Wilbert attended the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley.

Wilbert was employed with Specialty Rice for 5 years until his health began failed.

His parents: Elijah and Dorothy Mae Thomas; his three siblings: Marvin Thomas, Elijah Thomas Jr., and Deven "Kelly" Thomas all proceeded Wilbert in death.

His survivors are: two sons; Rico Nasco Sr. of Marianna, AR and Reginald Johnson of Flint, MI; a daughter: Shanta Thomas Young of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren; two brothers: James (Linda) Thomas of Brooklyn Park, MN and Nathan Thomas of Brinkley, AR; two sisters; Rhonda Thomas of Brinkley, AR and LaSonya Thomas of Cordova, TN, one sister-in-law Diane Thomas of Tampa, FL and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 S Main St. in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Full Gospel Church, 409 N Emmons Ave in Brinkley with Pastor Bobby Joe James serving as the eulogist.
