Veda Marie Watson

Veda Marie Watson, 61 of Marianna, passed away on Thursday July 17 at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Veda was born August 1, 1963 in Marianna, Arkansas to Herbert Smith and Shirley Jean Clinkscale.

While growing up in Marianna, Veda and her family attended Paradise #2 Baptist Church located in the city of Rondo, Arkansas.

Veda attended the Marianna Public Schools.

Veda was united in holy matrimony to William Earl Watson in October 1999.

Veda worked for years as a Home Health Care Aid for the Silver Lining Home Healthcare Organization. She was also the personal caregiver for her beloved daughter.

Veda enjoyed playing card games, listening to music, watching her soap operas, being a wife and mother to her family. She also enjoyed fishing whenever time permitted her to do so.

Her parents Herbert Smith and Shirley Jean Clinkscale; and her siblings: Rufus Wilson, Maxie D. Wilson, Willie C. Wilson, and Harvey Wilson all preceded Veda in death.

Survivors are her husband of 25 years William Earl Watson of Marianna, AR; two sons: William Earl Clinkscale and Charles Watson both of Marianna, AR; her daughter Shirley Ann Clinkscale of Marianna, AR; her grandchildren: Brielle Watson of Fayetteville, AR; Chloe Gales Watson and Breylon Watson both of Marianna, AR; four brothers: Oscar (Sandra) Wilson, Andrew Lee (Brenda) Clinkscale and Ralph Wilson all of Marianna, AR; Calvin Wilson of Memphis, TN; six sisters: Dorothy Walton of Dallas, TX; Lois Wilson and Emma Wilson both of Flint, MI; Beatrice Vanpelt and Christine Wyers both of Marianna, AR and Christine Wilson of Memphis, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 10 AM at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 296 Moton Street in Marianna with Pastor Bobby Enlow serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Baines Cemetery in Smale ( Monroe) by C.J.
