Upton was employed at Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, for more than 20 plus years. He had also previously been employed with Redfield Construction and Keo Tree Service.
"Bird" as Upton was lovingly known, enjoyed quaint country living. He cared about his appearance because he enjoyed dressing up and looking nice. He enjoyed listening to old school R&B music and watching his beloved westerns on television and he kept his trademark nice hair in great shape always.
Upton had a love for old school cars. At one point he even owned a yellow 1970 Olds Cutlass, which he loved dearly.
Upton was a man of few words, but when he had something to say, he meant it. He was a man who didn't mind speaking his mind with anyone. He loved and admired his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
