Tammy Lee Oglesby, 60 of Augusta passed away on Wednesday, July 29 at her home.
Tammy was born on December 22, 1965 in Augusta, Arkansas to Edward Lee Oglesby and Dorothy Lee Henderson-Oglesby.
Tammy was raised in Augusta and received her education from the Augusta Public School District. After relocation to Kansas City Missouri, she went on to attend the Excelsior Springs Job Corp, where she earned a GED and trained as a certified professional chef.
While residing in Kansas City, Tammy was employed as a sous chef with the Ritz Carlton Hotel for a year. Before returning to Augusta.
Her son Calvin Oglesby; her father Edward Lee Oglesby; grandparents Georgia Henderson and Chatman Henderson; sisters Doris Lockhart and Regina Durham, her uncle Cleophus Henderson and an Aunt Essie Nichols all preceded Tammy in death.
She cherished her role as a loving mother to her four children: Tyrone Oglesby, Breia (Stephon) Oglesby, David Oglesby, and Nakita Oglesby. She was also a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life; her mother Dorothy Oglesby; Tammy's family extended further to include ten sisters: Debra Rowden, Renia Patterson, Connie Oglesby, Lori Ann Glass, Marilyn Mclucas, Tammy Newton, Felicia Bell, Klanesha Oglesby, Michell Brewer and Cheryl Raymond; as well as four brothers: Edward (Gracie) Howard, Edward Durham, Lonnie (Janelle) Smith and DeWayne Durham. She is also survived by a host of other relatives, friends who will forever hold her memory close. A special thank you to her Aide for 2 years, Ms. Lizabeth Gray (White River Area Agency on Aging McCrory).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8 from 1:30 PM until 3 PM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, 927 South 4th Street in Augusta, with funeral services to follow promptly at 3 PM with Pastor Zay Clark serving as eulogist.
