Stevie Brown, age 65, of Augusta, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning, February 4.
Born on December 5, 1960, in Augusta, Stevie was the son of June Dave Brown and Ethel Lue Maddox-Brown. He was one of thirteen children in their family.
During his childhood in Augusta, Stevie and his family attended New Holly Grove Baptist Church. He continued to visit the church when possible, and also occasionally attended Morton Community Church in the Morton Community.
Stevie completed his education in the Augusta Public School system, graduating from Augusta High School in 1979.
Stevie worked as a truck driver for Conley Transportation in Searcy for over twenty-five years. He enjoyed detailing cars and trucks and was known for helping others throughout his community.
Known as "Bo" to his family and friends, Stevie was married to Judy Wynne Brown from 1988 until her passing in 2021. Together, they raised two children.
Stevie was preceded in death by his wife Judy, daughter Kim Coleman, his parents, and siblings Jerry Brown, Larry Brown, Danny Brown, Willie Brown, Derrick Brown, and Jessie Brown.
He is survived by his son Rickey Lockhart of Augusta, Arkansas; grandchildren Ke'Dren Coleman, Keelan Coleman, Keithen Coleman, and Keyondrea Coleman, all of Searcy, Arkansas; brothers Jerome (Doris) Brown of Searcy, Bobby (Dorothy) Brown, Jimmy Brown, Allen (Stephanie) Brown, and Darrell Brown, all of Augusta; sister Patricia Smith of Rochester, New York, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, February 21 at 11 AM at Ward Chapel Church, located at 500 Sycamore Street in Augusta. Pastor Gary Browning will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at New Quiet Cemetery-North, 250 Woodruff Road in Augusta. Services are entrusted to C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley and Stuttgart.
