Steven Watkins

Steven Watkins, 65 of Little Rock formerly of Covington, Tennessee passed away on September 27 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

Steven was born on May 6, 1960 to Eddie Lawrence Watkins and Ruby Pearl Austin Watkins in Covington, Tennessee.

Steven received his education from the Covington Public Schools. He was a 1978 graduate of Covington High School.

Steven was faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock for more than 16 years.

Steven worked for 15 years as a School Resource Officer with the Little Rock Public Schools systems. He also worked as a Security Officer for Robinson Center and Arkansas State House Convention Center as well as Verizon Arena (currently, Simmons Arena) in Little Rock, Arkansas for 15 years plus years.

Steven was united in matrimony to Lonnie J. Robinson in June 2009 preceding a whirlwind courtship.

His parents Eddie Lawrence Watkins and Ruby Pearl Watkins, a sister Eunice Pearl Elcans and a brother Clay Watkins all preceded Steve in death.

Survivors are his wife Lonnie Jean Watkins of Little Rock, AR; his daughters: Stephaine Watkins of Memphis, TN; Qiana (Jermane) Conway Sr., Markeshia Robinson, Kanisha Robonson all of Little Rock, AR; 9 grandchildren; his brothers: Eddie Lewis (Gwen) Watkins of Germantown, TN; Wayne (Mary) Watkins of Waterford, MI; Dave (Salome) Watkins and Cassius (Diane) Watkins both of Oakland, TN; his sisters: Norma (Earl) Nash of Brighton, TN and Linda (Gary) Powell of Cordova, TN; his mother in law Alice Harris of Marvell, AR and a host of other families members and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday morning, October 4 from 10 AM until 11 AM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2501 South Main Street in Little Rock. Funeral services will begin promptly at 11 AM with Pastor C. Dennis Edwards I serving as eulogist. Interment will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens, 301 Carnahan Drive in Maumelle by C.J.
