Shirley Marie Rowe-Walker, 67 of Augusta, passed away on Monday, January 13 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy.
Shirley was born July 18, 1957 in Fitzhugh, Arkansas to Eskew "Colby" Rowe and Ida B. Moore-Rowe.
Shirley was lifelong member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta, Arkansas.
While growing up in Fitzhugh and Augusta, Shirley attended the Augusta Public School System. She was a member of the 1976 Augusta High School graduating class.
Shriley was united in holy matrimony to Sylvester Walker in 1987.
Shirley was a former employee of Phillips Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Augusta for a few years, before her tragic auto accident.
Since Shirley's accident in 1998 which left her incapacitated, she has been a resident of the Woodruff County Nursing and Rehab Center in McCrory.
Her father Eskew "Colby" Rowe, three brothers: Jimmy Rowe, Paul Briscoe and Robert Rowe and a sister Jennie B. Mellon all preceded Shirley in death.
Survivors are: her husband Sylvester Walker of Phoenix, AZ; her son Matthew Rowe of Augusta, AR; her grandson Kaiser Rowe of Augusta, AR; two granddaughters: Adera Row and Akionia Rowe both of Augusta, AR: Her mother Ida B. Briscoe of Augusta, AR; her brother Phillip (Katina) Briscoe of Augusta, AR; three sisters: Reba (Johnny) McDonald of Newport, AR; Stephanie (Gary Peten) Briscoe and Edna (Troy) Brown both of Augusta, AR; a brother in love Leslie Mellon of Augusta, AR; a sister in love Jennifer Rowe of Augusta, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 25 at 2 PM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, 927 South 4th Street in Augusta with Elder Robert Gibbs serving as Eulogist. Interment will take place at New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta by C.J.
