Sharon Marie Amos-Banks

Sharon Marie Amos-Banks, 73 of Conway, formerly of Brinkley, passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 27 at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas.

Sharon was born November 26, 1951 in Clarendon, Arkansas to Arthur Amos and Savannah Johnson-Amos.

Sharon was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley for more than 30 plus years, where she sang in the church choir and in later years was appointed to the church's Mother Board.

Sharon received her early education from the Clarendon Public Schools.

Sharon was employed briefly by Johnson and Johnson while living in Chicago, Illinois. She also worked for Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Brinkley for a short time.

Sharon was a homemaker. She was the former long-time companion of late Lonnie E. Banks. She was a resolute companion, mother, and grandmother.

Her companion of 38 years Lonnie E. Banks: Her parents: Arhtur and Savannah Amos; her siblings: Fred Amos, Clyde Amos, Dillard Amos, Jean Amos, Ruthie Tyre, Ann Amos, Erma Roberson, and Mary Helen Abston all preceded Sharon in death.

Survivors are: five sons: Curtis (Amos) Amos of Jonesboro, AR; Lonnie D. Banks of West Memphis, AR; Derrick (Sylvia) Banks of Las Vegas, NV; Andre Banks of Vilonia, AR and Anthony Banks of Conway, AR; three daughters: Sheila Amos of Brinkley, AR; Barbara Amos and Chelita Banks both of Conway, AR; 18 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening August 8 from 5 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9 at 11 AM at St. Paul Full Gospel Church, 509 North Emmons Avenue in Brinkley with Pastor Joseph Lee serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon by C.J.
