Roosevelt Sparkman

Roosevelt Sparkman, 75 of Palestine, Arkansas passed away on Friday December 19 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

Roosevelt was born on February 6, 1950, in Goodwin, Arkansas to Andrew Lee Sparkman and Bernice Graham Sparkman.

Roosevelt, affectionately known as "Sweet Daddy Ro" by his family and friends, received a formal education at Wheatley Central Elementary in Wheatley and Marion Anderson High School in Brinkley.

Roosevelt worked as a farmer at Anthony Frien Farms for 15 years before retiring. He had previously worked in several other places throughout his early years.

On July 1, 2004, Roosevelt was united in marriage to his beautiful wife Jill Harris Green.

His parents Andrew and Bernice Sparkman, and sisters Lynette Duncan, and Mae Jean Sparkman all preceded Roosevelt in death.

Survivors are his wife: Jill Harris-Sparkman of Palestine, AR.; daughters: Stephanie (Timothy) Turner of West Helena, AR, and Kelly Green of Detroit, MI.; son: James Harris of Harbor Beach, MI.; grandchildren: Dontavia Swinney, Laila Swinney, and Chayze Mooney all of West Helena, AR.; brothers: Clarence Sparkman of Palestine, AR., Joe Sparkman of Detroit, MI., and Carl Sparkman of Clarendon, AR.; sisters: Ann Sparkman of Jonesboro, AR., Dora Anderson and Mary Hayes both of Palestine, AR., Elizabeth Harris and Betty Sparkman both of Forrest City, AR., and Helen Holiday of Colt, AR., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27 from 3PM-5PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations Chapel,124 South Main Street in Brinkley.
