Ray Deion Whitfield

Ray Deion Whitfield, 50, of Augusta, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, May 28, peacefully in his home.

Ray was born on February 17, 1976, to his parents Ray Charles Whitfield and Evelyn Wright, in Gardenia, California. He was raised by his father and adoptive mother Rowena Lacy Whitfield. He resided in the Los Angeles area until 13 and the family relocated to Augusta.

While living in California, Ray accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of New Brighter Day Missionary Baptist Church in Compton.

Ray affectionately known as "Dee" to his family and friends and as "Romeo" to Facebook family, receive a formal education at Augusta School District. He A brother preceded him in death.

His father, maternal and paternal grandparents and a brother preceded Ray in death.

His survivors are his mother: Rowena Whitfield of Augusta, AR.; brothers: Marcell Lugen of Dallas, TX., Davonne Lewis of Jacksonville, AR., and Amon Whitfield of Augusta, AR.; sisters: Effarlecia Witherspoon of Las Vega, NV., Stefanie Isaac of Rancho Cucamonga, CA., Rena (Paul) Evans of Little Rock, AR., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6th at 2:30PM at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 422 Millbury Street in Augusta with Pastor Zay Clark serving as eulogist. Interment will be held at Buckeye Cemetery, 2654 Woodruff 874 in Augusta by C.J.
