Paul Jeffery Tomlin Sr., 66 of Palestine, formerly of Sheridan, WY, passed away on Monday July, 28 at his home.
Paul was born December 30, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to Carl Ruben Tomlin and Carrie Mae Freeman-Tomlin.
Paul received his early education from the Palestine Public School System. He was a 1977 graduate of Palestine High School.
Paul went on to serve in the United States Army from 1977 until 1982 when he received an honorable discharge.
Before Paul's illness, he had been employed with the Sheridan VA Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyoming for 2 years. He had previously been employed with Schnieder Trucking in West Memphis, Arkansas, before relocating to Denver Colorado, where he lived and worked for 4 years.
Paul was united in holy matrimony to Yvonne Driver in 1982. To this union three children were born, Tamike, Paul Jr and Jeston. Although the marriage ended they remained steadfast co-parents and co-grandparents.
Two grandchildren: Le'Shun Tomlin and Jaylee Tomlin; his parents: Carl Tomlin and Carrie Mae Tomlin; and two brothers: Cecil Smith and Edward Pendelton all preceded Paul in death.
Survivors are: two sons: Paul Tomlin Jr. of Palestine, AR; Jeston (Jerrica) Tomlin of Little Rock, AR; two daughters: Tamike (Ronald) Burnett of West Memphis, AR and Raven Symone of Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren: Taymon Patton, Ta'Nya Burnett, Christian Burnett, Jaylen Tomlin, Myles Tomlin; Terion Patton, Kamren Bender (Tomlin), Jaxon Tomlin, Jace Tomlin and Killian Tomlin; two brothers: Willie (Genola) Smith and Jimmy Lucas both of Palestine, AR; a sister Renea Hunt of Palestine, AR; two special nieces: Tacia (Greg) Couch of Jonesboro, AR and Lawanda Bond of Forrest City, AR and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, August 7 from 5 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, August 8 at 11 AM at Saints Temple Church of God in Christ, 1024 South Rosser Street in Forrest City with Pastor Linda Driver serving a eulogist. Internment will take place on Monday, August 11 at 1 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 3600 AR-163 in Birdeye by C.J.
