Patricia Ann Woods

March 9, 1951 — April 12, 2026

Patricia Ann Roddy Woods was born on March 9, 1951, to Alex Roddy and Exora Mays-Roddy in Augusta, Arkansas.

At a young age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, was baptized, and became a member of Ward Chapel AME Church, now known as Ward Chapel Church, in Augusta. Later, in the early 1990s, Patricia joined White Memorial United Methodist Church under Reverend James Scruggs and subsequently Pastor Renee W. Willett. Throughout her membership, she served in many roles, including Usher, Choir member, Missionary, Lay Committee member, and Financial Secretary.

Known as Tricia in the country and Pat in the city, Patricia graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Augusta, class of 1968-1969. She continued her education at Foothills Vocational Technical School, specializing in Office Occupations.

After high school, Patricia worked for Van Heusen Shirt Factory for seven years. Upon completing her studies at Foothills, she moved to Little Rock in 1978 and began working at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis - Little Rock Branch. She remained with the company for twenty-six years, retiring early in 2004.

In 1989, Patricia married Elmer Woods. Together, they welcomed their beloved daughter, Chara Latrice.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Exora Roddy, and her sister, Opal Moore.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Elmer Woods of Benton, Arkansas, and her daughter, Chara Okoye of Little Rock, Arkansas. Other survivors include her uncle Charles (Eva) Mays of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother James Moore of Augusta, Arkansas; brothers-in-law Walter (Judy) Woods of Searcy, Arkansas, and Robert (Brenda) Woods of Frankfort, Illinois; sisters-in-law Shirley Smith of Searcy, Arkansas, Rose Woods of Chicago, Illinois, Gloria Lewis Woods of Augusta, Arkansas, Sonya Woods of Marion, Arkansas, Naomi Woods of Country Club Hills, Illinois, and Mary (Tula) Moore of Hesperia, California; special sister Dorothy (Alvin) Woods Rhodes of Little Rock, Arkansas; nephews Curtis (Peggy) Andersen of Hesperia, California, and David Moore of Chicago, Illinois; great nephew Antonio Andersen of Lucerne Valley, California; special great niece and Goddaughter Tiasha Andersen of El Cajon, California; Goddaughters Charica Halton of Little Rock, Shayla McNeal of Alexander, Arkansas, Nikki Duncan of North Little Rock, Venessa Taylor of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Ra'Shan Stubbs of Alexander, Arkansas; God granddaughter Tiffeni Young Taylor of Bentonville, Arkansas; grand-pups Maui (age 9) and Moku (age 6 months); God grand-pup Fozzie Bear (age 7); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Patricia also leaves behind special long-time friends: Brenda Caver, Theresa Brown, Mary Duffy, Earlene Parker, and Gloria Chambers.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening, April 24 from 4 PM until 6 PM at White Memorial United Methodist Church, 2801 Wolfe Street in Little Rock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning April 25 at 11 AM at Ward Chapel Church, 500 Sycamore Street in Augusta with Pastor Gary Browning serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at New Quiet Cemetery in Augusta by C.J.
