Pamela Faye Leon-Johnson

Pamela Faye Leon-Johnson, age 66, of Wheatley, passed away on Thursday, March 19, at Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Born on March 22, 1959, in Brinkley, Arkansas, Pamela was the daughter of James Leon Sr. and Lillie Lorine Gadsen-Leon.

Pamela accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church in Wheatley, Arkansas under the guidance of the late Reverend Neely Vance. She later became a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, where she worshipped under the leadership of the late Reverend Nathan Swanigan.

Pamela received her formal education at Wheatley Public School and graduated with the Wheatley High School class of 1977.

For several years, Pamela worked as a manager at Shell Convenience Store and Gas Station, as well as at Fuel Mart.

On September 28, 2003, Pamela married Samuel Johnson. From their union, a son, Patrick, was born.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, James Leon Sr., and Lillie Lorine Leon, as well as her siblings Johnny Leon, Nellie Jean Halliburton, and Patrick Leon.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Johnson of Vicksburg, MS; her son, Patrick Leon of Wheatley, AR; her brothers, Reverend James Leon Jr. of Jonesboro, AR, Curtis (Mary) Leon of Jacksonville, AR, and Arnold (Joyce) Leon Sr. of Brinkley, AR; her sisters, Dorothy Brown of Jonesboro, AR, Penny Martin of Wheatley, AR; her aunt, Alma Kyle of Des Arc, AR; her sister-in-law, Louise Leon of Wheatley, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at CJ Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 S Main St in Brinkley. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 3:00 PM at the Wheatley Civic Center, 934 North 8th St in Wheatley, with Reverend James Leon Jr. serving as eulogist.
