Ocie Lee Trice

Ocie Lee Trice, age 86, of Moro, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 12, 2026. He was surrounded by family in the place he called home.

Born on November 20, 1939, in Moro, Arkansas, Ocie was the son of Trenton Trice and Irene Turner-Trice. He was affectionately known as "Trice" by his family and friends. Ocie attended Moro Public Schools and later G.W. Carver High School in Moro, graduating with the class of 1957.

Ocie accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of Walnut Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church in Moro. He also attended Garrett Grove Missionary Baptist Church, due to both parents' affiliations with these congregations. After many years in Illinois, Ocie returned to Arkansas and reunited with Walnut Grove, and when the church closed its doors, he joined Garrett Grove Missionary Baptist in 2025 under the leadership of Reverend H. Pete Burton.

After graduating high school in 1957, Ocie relocated from Moro and lived in Chicago until 2003, at which point he returned to his hometown. He was employed as a mechanical engineer for Aldin Press for more than 40 years, retiring in 2002.

In 2005, Ocie was united in holy matrimony to his longtime companion, Nancy Hawthorne. His parents, Trenton Trice, and Irene Trice, as well as his sister, Ivia Jean Anderson, preceded Ocie in death.

Ocie is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Trice of Moro, Arkansas; his daughter, Angelic Ivory of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren, Angelia Blanton of Savannah, Georgia, and Dwayne (Melonie) Jordan of Augusta, Georgia; great-grandchild, McKenzie Jordan of Augusta, Arkansas; brother, Eoies (Ella Wee) Trice of Moro, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 18, at the Wheatley Civic Center, located at 934 North 8th Street in Wheatley. Reverend H. Pete Burton will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Garrett Grove Cemetery in Moro, and arrangements are entrusted to C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley and Stuttgart.
