Namon McGoy, 79 of Benton, formerly of Brinkley, passed away on Tuesday, July 22 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.
Namon was born on November 13, 1945 in Moro, Arkansas to Hilliard McGoy and Mary Semore-McGoy.
Namon attended school in the Moro community.
Namon worked as a farmer for many years with Buddy Lane Farms and Junior Turpin Farms both of Moro. He also worked as a self-employed mechanic for several years.
As Namon was lovingly known, he was an incredibly talented and skilled mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks for residents.
His sons: Namon McCoy, Issacc McCoy; his parents: Hilliard McGoy and Mary McGoy; His brother J.W. McGoy and three sisters: Margie McGoy, Diane Youngblood and Barbara Harris and his niece and caregiver Sarah Dale all preceded Namon in death.
Survivors are: two sons: Napoleon (April) McCoy and Keith McCoy both of Leesburg, FL; two daughters: Mary (Emmanuel) Mitchell and LaKashia ( Xavier) Sanchious both of Leesburg, FL; 16 grandchildren; two brothers: E.L. McGoy of Detroit, MI and Aaron McGaughey of Brinkley, AR; two sisters: Ella Mae Nunn of Brinkley, AR and Delois Perry of Lawton, OK; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1 at 2 PM at St. Paul Full Gospel Church, 409 North Emmons Avenue in Brinkley with Deacon Aaron McGaughey serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Moro by C.J.
