While living in St. Louis, Mildred began working as a Salesclerk for Famous-Barr Department Stores. She dedicated several decades of service to the company before retiring.
Mildred was married to the late Roy Miller, who preceded her in death in 2022. She was previously married to Jim Beasley, who also predeceased her. Her parents, Charlie Brown, and Lois Brown, as well as her brothers Frank, Joe Louis, Ryland, Charles, and Acie, also preceded her in death.
Mildred enjoyed cooking, traveling, bowling, and selling Mary K. Cosmetics. She was also an enthusiastic fan of NBA and college basketball.
