Martha Faye Buirts 66, of Augusta passed away on Thursday, June 12th at her home in Augusta.
Martha was born on August 15, 1958, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Ella Mae Buirts.
Martha received her education from Augusta High School. She was a proud graduate of Augusta High School Class of 1977.
As a child, while growing up in Cotton Plant, Martha attended Church services at Morning Star M.B. Church. After relocating to Augusta, she began attending St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church for a short time.
Martha worked as a housekeeper for several families in the Augusta and McCrory communities.
Her mother: Ella Mae Buirts and her niece: Tiffany Buirts-White preceded Martha in death.
Survivors include one son, Andre Buirts Sr. of Augusta, AR; one daughter, Corrice Buirts of Augusta, AR; two grandchildren, Andre Buirts Jr. of McCrory, AR and Christalynn (Jeffrey) Webb of Searcy, AR; two great grandsons: Jeremiah Webb and Messiah Webb both of Searcy, AR; her twin brother Maurice Ray Buirts of Augusta, AR; two nephews: Rodrick (Brandy) Jones of St. Louis, MO and Derrick M. Buirts of Little Rock, AR; two aunts: Glorice Buirts of Augusta, AR and Dorothy Buirts of Chicago, IL; special cousins raised as siblings: Ronnie Buirts and Lisa Farmer both of Searcy, AR; and Margaret Gilcrease of Augusta, AR; the Milton family, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 9 AM until 9:45 AM at Northside Church of Christ, 1236 Right of Way Road in Augusta. Graveside services will be held immediately afterwards at New Quiet Cemetery-North, Highway 33 North with Reverend William James Trice as the eulogist.
