Margaret Marie Mosley, 99 of Little Rock, formerly of Clarendon, passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 11 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock.
Margaret was born on April 4, 1924 in Marvell, Arkansas to Lazarus Hollowell and Lillie Lee Hollowell.
Margaret was raised in Smale, Arkansas and attended school in the Smale community in a one room school house.
Margaret was a member of New Genesis Church in Brinkley since 2006, where she was a member of the Mother Board. She was formerly a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, Arkansas where she served as a member of the Kitchen Committee and she sang in the choir.
Margaret worked for many years as a Homemaker. She had also worked for the Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Brinkley for a number of years during her earlier years.
Maragret was united in holy matrimony to Reverend Wornester Mosley in 1951.
Margaret lived a quiet, uncomplicated, long and blessed life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, gardening and fishing. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching Westerns and Soap Operas during her free time. She also watching politics on MSNBC and engaging in political discussions with family and friends even well into her 90 plus years.
Her husband of 54 years Reverend Wornester Mosley, her parents: Lazarus Hollowell and Lillie Lee Hollowell; a son Ocie Bates, a daughter Vennie Summerville, four grandchildren: Kimberly Bates, Patricia Bates, Monica Beasley and Charles Raynor Jr. all preceded Margaret in death.
Survivors are: her son Calvin Mosley of Little Rock, AR; four daughters: Carolyn (LeRoy) Johnson of University City, MO; Rosemary Fisher and Joyce Raynor both of Little Rock, AR; and Cornelia "Brenda" (Bishop Jerry) Cobbs of Pine Bluff, AR; 19 Grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, January 19 at 1 PM at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive in Brinkley with Bishop Jerry Cobbs officiating.
