Lorraine Parker

Lorraine Leon-Parker, 63 of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Brinkley passed away on Friday September 12 at her home.

Lorraine was born on September 8 , 1962 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Roy Leon Sr. and Willette Hudson-Leon.

While growing up in Brinkley, Lorraine was accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at First Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Will Swanigan.

"Red" as Lorriane was lovingly known, received her early education from the Brinkley Public School System.

Lorraine has been a resident of Jacksonville, Florida for more than 10 years. She had previously been a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years after leaving the Brinkley area.

Lorraine was united in holy matrimony to Ocie Parker in December 2006 in Brinkley, Arkansas.

Lorriane was a homemaker. She had previously worked as a Home Health Care Aid for several years.

Her children Cynthia Parker and Sherby Palmer Jr. ; her parents Roy Leon Sr. and Willette Leon and her brother Roy Leon Jr. all preceded Lorraine in death.

Survivors are: her husband Ocie Parker of Jacksonville, FL; three sons: Demarcus Palmer, Deonta Wynne and Messiah Harris all of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter Nikita Leon of Jacksonville, FL; 9 grandchildren and a great grandchild; her stepmother Mennie Leon of St. Louis, MO; two brothers: Carl (Tammy) Leon of Brinkley, AR and Dennis Day of St. Louis, MO; sisters: Florence (San) Holiday and Nellie Leon both of Brinkley, AR; Barbara Mitchell of North Little Rock, AR; Cynthia Diane Leon of Jacksonville, AR and Ivy Bondon of St. Louis, MO an uncle James (Albessa) Hudson of Brinkley, AR; and an aunt Alma Kyle of Des Arc, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 21 at 1 PM at the Wheatley Civic Center, 934 North 8th Street in Wheatley with Reverend James Leon Jr. serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Macedonia Cemetery in Fargo by C.J.
