Lena M. Vann-Boyle, 86 of McCrory, passed away on Tuesday morning January 23 at Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Lena was born June 29, 1937 in Colonial, Arkansas to Castoria Vann and Agnes Farmer-Vann. She was the widow of Horace Boyle.
Lena was a 1957 graduate of Brown High School in McCrory.
After graduating high school, she married Horace Boyle in 1958. The couple then relocated to Chicago Illinois to make a life for themselves.
While living in Chicago, Lena would work for Montgomery Ward and later Curtis Candy Company. She would eventually establish and operate her own successful business until she retired.
Lena was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago for more than 12 years before returning to McCrory to live.
Her beloved husband Horace, her parents Castoria Vann and Agnes Vann; her siblings: Hazel Vann-Brown, Melissa Vann-Bumpers, Esther Vann, Rinsley Lee Vann, Calhoun Vann and Frank Gus Vann all preceded Lena in death.
Survivors are: her brother Robert (Ellla) Vann of McCrory, AR; two sisters: Louise (Archie) Johnson of Detroit, MI and Roxie Vann of McCrory, AR; a special friend Evelyn Worsham of Dallas, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3 at 2:30 PM at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 114 Olive Street in Patterson with Reverend Lamar Wright officiating.
