Lee Anthony Isby, 65, of Dallas, GA, formerly of Holly Grove, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, April 25 at Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia.
Lee was born on July 2, 1960, in Holly Grove, Arkansas, to T.B. Isby and Mary Lee Johnson-Isby. He attended the Holly Grove Public Schools System and graduated with the Holly Grove High School class of 1978.
Lee accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove, Arkansas. While living in San Francisco, he joined the New Home Strangers Baptist Church. Upon relocating to Georgia, although he did not find a church home, he enjoyed listening to Joel Olsteen Ministries.
Lee worked for IBM Corporation as a Sales Manager in San Jose, California, for several years before retiring and moving to Georgia.
Lee was united in matrimony to Penny Holmes in 1986. Together, they had two children. Though the marriage ended, Lee and Penny remained a close family unit, sharing a strong bond with their children and granddaughter.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, T.B. Isby and Mary Lee Isby; siblings, L.T. Isby, Willie Isby, Charlie C. Isby, Hazel B. Isby, Paul Isby, and T.B. Isby Jr.; nephews, Marvin Flowers, Darrell Hampton, and Cedric Hampton; and niece, Charade Flowers.
Lee is survived by his son, Lee Anthony Isby II of Dos Palos, CA; daughter, Ieashia Marylynn Saunders of Hiram, GA; granddaughter, Maisyn Saunders of Hiram, GA; brothers, Connell Mayo and Larandle Mayo, both of Little Rock, AR; sisters, Mary (Charles) Jean Estes of Pittsburg, GA, Christine Isby Flowers of Holly Grove, AR, and Carolyn Isby Yancey of Little Rock, AR; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 AM at Clarendon Holly Grove High School Auditorium, 320 North 7th St., Clarendon, AR. Reverend Charles Estes will serve as the eulogist. Interment will take place at Hayes Cemetery in Holly Grove, arranged by C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley and Stuttgart.
