L.C. Brown, 71 of Cotton Plant, passed away on Monday November 24 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy.
L.C. was born March 4, 1954 in McCrory, Arkansas to Ollie Fred Brown and Della Word-Brown.
L.C. attended McCrory Public Schools. He went on to finish his education at Job Corp in Oklahoma City. He also received a diploma from Southwest Automotive School in Engine Overhaul and Engine Tune Up in Oklahoma City.
L.C. was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Cotton Plant for almost 30 years, where he also served on the church's Deacon Board since 2011.
L.C. worked as a Long-Haul Truck Driver for more than 15 years before retiring. He had also worked as a self-employed local mechanic for several years.
L.C. was united in holy matrimony to Clara Harston on June 6, 1992.
Two sons: Desmond Ewing and Sherman Harston; his parents Ollie F. Brown and Della Brown and six siblings: Elmer Brown, Delmar Word, Melvin Brown, Ollie Brown Jr., Ruby Edwards and Ruth Edwards all preceded L.C. in death.
Survivors are: his wife Clara Harston-Brown of Cotton Plant, AR; sons: Lester Ewing of Houston, TX; Aaron Covington of Oklahoma City, OK; L.C. Harston of Higginson, AR; Emmanuel (Shelia) Harston of Mesquite, TX; Darrell (Keyera) Harston of Fort Worth, TX; James (Jesse) Harston of Tyler, TX; and Sheridan Harston of Dallas, TX; daughters: Marilyn (Sha'Ron) Harston-Dilworth of Cotton Plant, AR; Ruby Camarillo of Killeen, TX; and Stephanie (Allen) Brown of Augusta, AR; 36 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, brothers: Thurman (Shelia) Brown of Higginson, AR; Calvin Brown of Patterson, AR; and Earnest Brown of Miller, MO; sisters: Essie Mae Edwards and Helen Hatchett both of Patterson, AR, Corrine Brown of Kensett, AR; and Minnie Mae Walls of Atlanta, GA and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 2 PM at Moring Star Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 17 North in Cotton Plant with Reverend James Harston serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Morning Star Cemetery in Cotton Plant by C.J.
