"Boo" as James was lovingly known was born June 17, 1967 in Brinkley, Arkansas to James Edward Vanpelt Sr. and Rosie Clay-Vanpelt.
James graduated from Brinkley High School in 1986 and went on to attend truck driving school in Missouri.
James was a former member of the Mount Sinai Community Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon returning to Arkansas, he would unite with Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
James was formerly employed at United Welding and Manufacturing Company and the Wisconsin Highway Department before retiring due to health concerns
While residing in Milwaukee James volunteered as a mentor at the Piper Hillside Boys and Girls Club and the Mount Sinai Community Baptist Church.
His father James Edward "Billy" Vanpelt Sr. preceded James in death.
Survivors are sons: James Vanpelt III of North Little Rock, AR, Montrice (Kimberly) Leon of Brinkley, AR, and Anthony Carson of Jacksonville, AR; his daughters: Regina Carson of Bossier City, LA, Antonia (Toran) Davis of Memphis, TN and Shawntell Cobbs of Milwaukee, WI; mother Rosie Clay-Jones of Brinkley, AR; brothers: Melvin Clay of Brinkley, AR, Curits (Carol) Vanpelt of Scott, AR, Michael Vanpelt of North Little Rock, AR; George (Christina) Jones III of Houston, TX; sisters: Tina Parker (Don) Wright of North Little Rock, AR; Kimberly (Carlos) Parker of Round Rock, TX and Lisa Vanpelt (Shannon) Farmer of Sherwood, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
