Howard Miller Chapple Jr.

Howard Miller Chapple Jr., 63 of Augusta, formerly of Cotton Plant, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, at his home.

Howard was born on Wednesday, September 4, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois to Howard Miller Chapple Sr. and Clemistine Dansberry-Chapple. He was the eldest of 3 children born to this union.

Howard attended school in the Chicago Public School System until his family relocated to Cotton Plant, Arkansas. He then went on to attend Cotton Plant Public School. He would go on to earn a GED in 1999.

While growing up in Cotton Plant, Howard would attend his family's home church of New Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Since moving to Augusta, Howard has been working through Staffmark Temporary Agency as a Forklift Operator.

Howard was a huge sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports of television whenever he had time.

His son Howard M. Chapple III, his father Reverend Howard M. Chapple Sr., his brother Chester Chapple, his sister Peggy Chapple; his maternal grandparents: Eddie Dansberry and Coneria Dansberry and his paternal grandparents: Dolan and Bernice Chapple all preceded Howard in death.

Survivors are: his daughter Christina Chapple of North Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his mother Clemistine Chapple of McCrory, AR; his brother Reverend Christopher (Cosaundra) Chapple Sr. of Fort Smith, AR; his sisters: Bernice (Correy) Chapple-Taylor of Marion, AR; and Florence (Kelvin) Haley of Beloit, WI; his dear friend Karen Jones of Fort Smith, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening October 2 from 6 PM until 8 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, October 3 at 11 AM at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 114 McMurtry Street in Cotton Plant with Reverend Christopher Chapple serving as eulogist.
