Ewan Ebony Hughes, 52 of Jacksonville, passed away on Wednesday, July 16 at Unity Health Hospital in Jacksonville.

Ewan was born April 9, 1973 in Harvey, Illinois to Charles Hughes Jr. and Constance Meeks-Hughes.

Ewan or "Wan" as she was affectionately known, attended the Chicago Public School. She was a 1991 graduate of Thornton High School in Harvey, Illinois. In later years she went on to attend East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City.

Ewan attended New Commandment Church of God in Christ in Jacksonville with her family on numerous occasions.

Ewan worked as a home health care aid. She also worked as an aid and caregiver for her parents.

Her sibling, Christopher Callen preceded Ewan in death.

Survivors are: two sons: Wayne Kelly of Chicago, IL and Reginald Kelly of Jacksonville, AR; three daughters: Tashunda Hughes of Jacksonville, AR; Shonta Kelly of Forrest City, AR and April Waters of Norridge, CT; 10 grandchildren; her parents Charles Hughes Jr. and Constance Hughes of Jacksonville, AR; three brothers: Bryant (Angela ) Hughes of Jacksonville, AR; Waidus (Belinda) Hughes of University Park, IL and Aaron Sawyer of Hammond, IN; five sisters: Nicole (Ronnie) Johnson of Jacksonville, AR; Shandolyn Hughes of Little Rock, AR; Kimberly Hughes and Michelle Mayfield both of Chicago, IL; and Vita Sawyer-Jackson of Dyer, IN and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 3 PM at New Commandment Church of God in Christ, 703 South James Street in Jacksonville with Pastor Eddie Miller serving as eulogist. Interment will be private by C.J.
