Evelyn Denise Henderson

Evelyn Denise Henderson, age 68, of Holly Grove, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Evelyn was born on November 11, 1957, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Johnny Henderson and Sammie Lee Guinn-Henderson. Affectionately known as "Boo" by her family and friends, Evelyn attended Holly Grove High School and graduated with the class of 1976. She continued her studies at Philander Smith College in Little Rock for two years, pursuing higher education and personal growth.

From an early age, Evelyn accepted Christ and became a member of 1st John Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove, where she was an active and devoted member for many years. Later, she united with First Baptist Church in Holly Grove under the leadership of Reverend Fred Abram, where she remained a faithful member for more than 25 years.

Evelyn worked as a Home Health Care Aide at Carelink for eight years, during which she also cared for her brother Thurman. Previously, she was employed as a clerk at Coleman Liquor Store in Holly Grove for several years, establishing meaningful connections within her community.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Sammie Lee Henderson, and her siblings, Roy Lee Henderson and Thurman Henderson.

She is survived by her brothers: Sherman Henderson of St. Louis, MO; Larry Henderson of Bossier City, LA; and John (Gudrun) Henderson of Rodalbean, West Germany. Special nephews include John (Farrah) Henderson Jr. of Raleigh, NC, and Chris (Cora) Hodges of Hopewell, VA. Special nieces are Phyllis "Shirley" Dority of Holly Grove, AR, and Tanya Henderson of Galesburg, IL. Evelyn's companion, Robert Jackson of Holly Grove, AR, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members, and friends also survive her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 156 Mimosa Drive in Holly Grove, with Pastor George "Chuckie" Cunningham serving as the eulogist.
