Elaine Agnes Briscoe

Elaine Agnes Briscoe, 73, of Augusta, AR passed away on Sunday, December 1 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Elaine was born on May 13, 1951 in Forrest City, Arkansas to Eddie B. Clark and Mary E. Hill-Clark.

Elaine attended the Augusta Public School District. She was a 1970 graduate of Carver High School in Augusta.

Elaine accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ in Augusta. She later became a member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Patterson, Arkansas under the leadership of Elder Willie Clark Sr., where she remained for several years. She reunited with Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Gerald Richardson. She served on the the Usher Board at both at churches.

Elaine was united in holy matrimony to Edward Briscoe Sr. on June 11, 1970.

"Laine" as she was affectionately known was a dedicated and devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Her children: Thelma Briscoe, Shirley Briscoe and Nicholas Briscoe; her parents: Eddie B. Clark and Mary E. Clark; her siblings; Charles Clark Sr, James Hill, Larry Joe Clark and Katherine Brock all proceeded Elaine in death.

Her survivors are: husband Edward Briscoe Sr. of Augusta, AR; two sons; Edward (Shanna) Briscoe Jr. of Augusta, AR and Eddie (Joanie) Briscoe of Augusta, AR; nine grandchildren; Gerald Briscoe of Newport, AR, Zakita Boone of Little Rock, AR, Jularin Briscoe of Augusta, AR, Kalinshea Briscoe of Augusta, AR, A'mariyon Briscoe of Augusta, AR, Elijah Briscoe of Augusta, AR, Jacobe Briscoe of Augusta, AR, M'lyah Briscoe of Augusta, AR, Makyla Briscoe of Searcy, AR; two brothers: Kenneth Clark of Little Rock, AR and Elder Willie (Teresa) Clark Sr. of Augusta, AR; one brother-in-law Thomas Brock of St. Louis, MO; seven sisters: Shirley (Greg) Hayes of St. Louis, MO; Yvonne Briscoe of Memphis, TN; Bernice (Bobby) Johnson of Memphis, TN; Linda (Ricky) Lockhart and Stephanie (Anthony) Logan both of Little Rock, AR; Debra (Donald) Miller of Augusta, AR and Thelma Pree of Searcy, AR; a sister in law: Katie Mae Clark of Augusta, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, at 11:00 AM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God In Christ, 927 South 4th Street in Augusta with Superintendent Gerald Richardson serving as the eulogist.
