Edward Lee White Sr. 85, affectionately known as Eddie, passed away on Thursday, December 18 at his residence in Augusta, Arkansas. He was born on October 6, 1940, in Augusta to Earnest White and Nesha Jones White.
Edward attended both Augusta Public School and St. Louis Public Schools, where he built the foundation for his lifelong connections to family and community.
Edward worked for 30 years as a laborer at Taggert and Taggert Seeds Company, a position he held after returning to Augusta to be close to his loved ones.
Edward enjoyed watching sports, dancing, partying, and having a great time with friends and family. He loved music, took pride in dressing up, appreciated nice cars, and was fond of riding his bike.
Edward was preceded in death by his children Angela White and Sean White, his parents Earnest White and Nesha White, and his brother Elbert White.
He is survived by his sons: Edwards White Jr., Mark (Shelon) White, Danny White, and Keith White; his daughter Nina (Willie) Butler; 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jimmy White, Herman White, and Philip White; one sister: Sandra Mosley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, January 10 from 10 AM until 11 AM ay Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, 927 South 4th Street, Augusta. Funeral services will commence promptly at 11 AM with Elder Robert Gibbs serving as eulogist. Interment will follow at New Quiet Cemetery-North, Woodruff County Road 250 in Augusta by C.J.
