Edward Levon Flowers, 44 of Holly Grove, passed away on Saturday, July 11 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
"Eddie" or "40" as Edward was affectionately known, was born January 24, 1982 in Wichita, Kansas to James Lee Flowers Sr. and Christine Isby Flowers.
Eddie was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Trenton, Arkansas, where he was an active member. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of Pastor Robert Kelly, Jr. at First Pentecostal Temple of Deliverance Church in Holly Grove, before its doors closed.
Eddie received his education from the Holly Grove and Grambling, Louisiana Public Schools. He was a 2000 graduate of Grambling State University Laboratory High School.
At the time of his accident, Eddie was employed with Lennox Industries in Stuttgart for a year. He had previously been employed by Hollowell Industries (formerly, Doughboy Pools) for several years.
His son Marvin Flowers, his father James Flowers Sr., his maternal grandparents: T.B. Isby and Mary Isby; his paternal grandparents: Edward Flowers and Geraldine Hardimon; his brother Marbvin Lamont Flowers and his sister Charade Flowers all preceded Eddie in death.
Survivors are: his son Markell Artis of Jonesboro, AR; his daughters: Brentasia Martin and Elsie Flowers both of Holly Grove, AR; Essence Flowers of West Memphis, AR; Emmariah Flowers of Little Rock, AR; E'Zuri Flowers, Emeri Flowers and Emoni Flowers all of Marvell, AR; grandchildren; Brycen Holder, De'Royalty Cartwright, Brielle Flowers and Ny'Ri Mitchell all of Holly Grove, AR; his mother Christine Isby Flowers of Holly Grove, AR; his brothers: James Flowers Jr. of Ruston, LA; Charles Carter of Holly Grove, AR; sisters: Conya (David) Watkins and Janella Flowers both of Memphis, TN; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening, July 24 from 5 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, July 25 at 11 AM at Kingdom Builders Ministries, 400 North Pine Street in Holly Grove with Pastor JaSean Smith serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Hayes Cemetery in Holly Grove by C.J.
