Dorothy Mae Jenkins

Dorothy Mae Jenkins, 79, of Holly Grove (Pine city Community) passed away on Saturday, December 6 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.

Dorothy or "Dot" as she was lovingly known was born on November 5, 1946 in Pine City, Arkansas to Ruthie Hurd and Shelby Gray.

Dorothy was a member of Prayer House of Faith in Holly Grove under the leadership of Pastor George Cunningham. She served as a member of the Mother's Board.

Dorothy received her education from the Holly Grove Public Schools system. She was a proud graduate of the Holly Grove Vocational Hogh School class of 1965. She was an immensely proud Alumni of her class.

Dorothy married Albert Jenkins in 1963. They moved to Flint Michigan in 1979 to live and work before returning to Arkansas in 2005. He preceded her in death in 2021.

Dorothy worked for the General Motors Corporation in Flint for more than 20 plus years before retiring in 2005.

Her husband, a daughter Felicia Jones, a great granddaughter Zyariah Golden; her parents: Shelby Gray and Ruthie and Arthur Lowery; two brothers: James Gray and Hollis Foster and a sister Louise Foster all preceded Dorothy in death.

Survivors are her sons: Danny (Kendra) Vinson and Melvin Jenkins both of Holly Grove, AR; her daughter Almer Jenkins of Flint, MI; seventeen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; seven brothers: Alvin (Treva) Lowery of Holly Grove, AR; Calvin Lowery of Lamore, CA; Jerome (Carolyn) Lowery, Steve Lowery and Donnie (Stacey) Lowery all of Pine City, AR; and Harvey Lee (Monica) Lowery and Lonnie (Tramell) Lowery both of Stuttgart, AR; two sisters: Barbara ((J.C.) Hall of Holly Grove, AR and Arthelia Lowery-Johnson of Pine City, AR; two sisters in law: Bertha Hardimon of Pine City, AR and Janice Foster of Holly Grove, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday afternoon from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley.
