Doris Ann Morrison, 72 of Wheatley, passed away on Saturday morning September 27 at her son's home in Forrest City.
Doris was born on December 11, 1952 in Helena, Arkansas to Elmer Morrison Jr. and Deloris Gregory.
Doris received her education from the Wheatley Public School System. She was a 1973 graduate of Wheatly High School. She went on to attend Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute in Forrest City where she earned an associate's degree in early childhood development in 1991.
Doris was a lifelong member of the Grand Street Church of Christ in Brinkley, Arkansas.
Doris worked for more than 32 years as a Home Health Care Aid with the Monroe County Health Unit before retiring in 2016.
Her sister Shelia Smith, her father Elmo Morrison Jr., Step-Father Nathaniel Smith Sr., her maternal grandmother Naomi Gregory, her maternal uncles: Welkholm Gregory, Felix Gregory, Thurman Gregory, Frank Gregory, Warren Gregory, Freddie Gregory and a bonus son Ritchie Williamson all preceded Doris in death.
Survivors are: her sons Mark Morrison of Huntsville, AL; and Timothy (Anastacia) Morrison Sr. of Forrest City, AR; her grandchildren: Treyton Smith of Racin, WI; Kimoria Morrison, Timothy "TJ" Morrison Jr. and Morgan Morrison all of Forrest City, AR; Emiley Morrison and Tonie Morrison both of Little Rock, AR; three bonus daughters: Val (Patrick) Shutlz of Tony, AL; Valerie Walker of Pine Bluff, AR; and Shea Williamson of Little Rock, AR; a bonus son Michael Williamson of Louisville, KY; her mother Deloris Smith of Pine Bluff, AR; brothers: Nathaniel (Stacey) Smith and Derrick (Lashelle) Smith both of Arlington, TX; Michael Smith of Pine Bluff, AR; Leonard Gregory of Wheatley, AR; and Nathan Gregory of Flint, MI sisters: Pearlie Mae Smith of Arlington, TX; Barbara Ann Smith of Marion, AR; Brenda (Mark) Riley of Texarkana, TX Sharon Smith of Pine Bluff, AR; Shirley Wynne of Flint, MI; Christine Gregory of East St. Louis, IL and Mae Helen (Carl) Dawkins of Gary, IN; special cousin Anthony Morrison of Galesburg, IL; dear lifelong friends: Nashelle Weaver of Jacksonville, AR; Ethel Mae Watson, Geraldine Watson and Lorriane (Bryant) Davis all of Wheatley, AR; Leah and Steve Williamson of Brinkley, AR; Dr. Linda Collins of Wynne, AR; Jessica Walker of Dallas, TX; and Marilyn Bolden of Little Rock, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening, October 3 from 5 PM until 7 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning October 4 at 10 AM at the Wheatley Civic Center, 934 North 8th Street in Wheatley. Interment will take place at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Wheatley by C.J.
