Donald Ray Woods, 69 of North Little Rock, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Tuesday, July 15 at his home.
Donald was born July 5, 1956 in Gregory, Arkansas to Steve Woods Jr. and Gladys Marie Dew-Woods.
Donald received his education from the Augusta Public School system. After high school, he went on to serve in the United States Army from 1975 until 1978, for which he received an honorable discharge.
Although Donald did not have a permanent church home, he would often visit Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ in Augusta through the years.
Donald was united in holy matrimony to the late Carolyn Germany.
Donald was employed by Snyder Trucking of West Memphis, Arkansas for more than 10 years. He had previously worked as a farmer for Peyton Daniel Farms in Gregory for several years.
His wife Carolyn, his parents: Steve Woods Jr. and Gladys Woods; a brother Richard T. Woods Sr., and two sisters: Regina F. Woods and Mary L. Woods all preceded Donald in death.
Survivors are: three sons: Terrence Gant and Antonio Gant both of Augusta, AR and Patrick (Erica) Germany of Columbia, MO; 8 grandchildren; two brothers: Bobby Woods of Searcy, AR; and Larry (Camille) Jackson Sr. of Milwaukee, WI; a sister Teresa Woods of Augusta, AR; a sister in law Mary Ann Woods of Augusta, AR; a niece Felica (Steve) Woods-Johnson of Jonesboro, AR; five nephews: Richard (Esther) Woods Jr. of Rochester, NY; Jamell Woods of Searcy, AR; Larry Jackson Jr., of Milwaukee, WI; Bernard Woods and Steven Woods both of Augusta, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 11 AM at Holy Ghost Academy Church of God in Christ, 927 South 4th Street in Augusta with Elder Robert Gibbs serving as eulogist. Interment will take place on Tuesday, July 29 at 1 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue in North Little Rock by C.J.
