Darrell Lanell Singleton Jr. passed away on Saturday, February 28, at his home in North Little Rock.
Darrell was born on August 22, 1984, in Carthage, Mississippi, to Darrell L. Singleton Sr. and Veronica Jones. He was the eldest of four siblings.
As a child growing up in Detroit, Darrell attended and was baptized at Perfecting Church.
Darrell was raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Pershing High School, graduating in 2003. He later continued his education at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he earned his bachelor's degree. While attending Arkansas Baptist College, he became a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (ΩΨΦ). As one of the founding members of the chapter line established at Arkansas Baptist College, he was affectionately known to his brothers as "Funkytail," a name that reflected his vibrant personality and brotherhood spirit.
For the past ten years, Darrell faithfully served as a Patient Care Technician at Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway, Arkansas. Through his work, he demonstrated compassion, dedication, and a genuine commitment to caring for others, touching the lives of many patients and colleagues alike.
Darrell married Cicely Holden in April 2011. To this union, a daughter, Chloe, was born.
Darrell's son, Darrell "Tre" Singleton III, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Cicely Holden-Singleton; his beloved daughter, Chloe Singleton; his parents, Darrell L. Singleton Sr. and Veronica Jones; his siblings, Dustin Singleton (Brittany), Christopher Jones, D'Arby Singleton, and Kelsie Baitler-Jones; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gwendolyn Wilson and Alonzo Holden; his nieces and nephews; along with a host of extended family members, fraternity brothers, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 2:30 PM at Antioch Full Gospel Church, 3824 Antioch Blvd in College Station, with his family serving as eulogists and Minister Roger Privett serving as officiant. Professional services are provided by C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 and Stuttgart (870) 672-7100.
