Charles Brown, 75 of Brinkley, passed away on Saturday, August 8 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Charles was born on October 9, 1950 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Vastie Brown and Elizabeth Ford Brown.
Charles was raised in Cotton Plant and attended the Cotton Plant Public School District. He was a 1971 graduate of Cotton Plant Vocational High School.
While growing up in Cotton Plant, Charles would often attend church with his mother at Ash Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Charles was employed by Riceland Foods in Stuttgart and various other satellite locations over the span of 10 plus years. He had also been employed by the Des Arc Sawmill for 10 years prior to his time at Riceland.
Charles was a simple yet and quiet man who enjoyed a simple country life. He loved football and basketball. He was a huge fan of the Arkansas Razorback football and basketball teams. He loved listening to gospel music, especially Lee Williams. His favorite pastime was sitting on his porch and enjoying the outdoor weather.
His parents: Vastie and Elizabeth Brown; three brothers: Tommie Brown, William Brown and Lloyd Brown and three sisters: Queen Brown, Ora Lee Brown and Helen Finney all preceded Charles in death.
Survivors are: his sons Kevin (Angela) Moore of Chesapeake, VA; his daughter Rajinder D. Moore of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Raven Moore, Autum Moore and Tre'Nell Moore all of Chesapeake, VA and a grand puppy Jase Moore of Memphis, TN; a brother Sammie (Rebecca) Brown of Albion, MI two sisters: Betty Brown of Detroit, MI and Dorothy Perkins of Albion, MI his dear friend and companion Armander Moore of Brinkley, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning August 22 at 10 AM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Interment will be private by C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 and Stuttgart (870) 672-7100 email: williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com
The honorary pallbearers are Khalid Walton, Jonathan Moore, Montrel Burnett, Brock Wynne and Brett Wynne.
