Calvin Brown, 73, of Augusta passed away on Thursday, May 22 at his home in Augusta.
Calvin was born on July 30, 1951, in Augusta, Arkansas, to Richard Brown Sr. and Lucy Ann Roberts-Brown.
Calvin was a faithful and lifelong member Northside Church of Christ in Augusta, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He would also often lead congregational songs as well.
Calvin received his early education from the Augusta Public School System. He was a 1969 graduate of Carver High School in Augusta. He later attended the Pines Vocational School in Pine Bluff, where he received a certificate in Welding.
Calvin was united in holy matrimony to Eleanor Anthony on January 18, 1975, in Augusta, Arkansas.
In his earlier years, Calvin was employed with Sloan Valve in Augusta for 32 years as a Forklift Operator. He retired in 2019.
His daughter Lenor Antonette Brown; his parents: Richard Brown Sr. and Lucy Ann Roberts-Brown; and deceased siblings; Richard Brown Jr., Billy Ray Brown, Carolyn Jean Brown-Johnson, Lucille Brown, and Edna Mae Brown-Roshell all proceeded Calvin in death.
Survivors are: his wife of 50 years Eleanor Brown of Augusta, AR; one daughter: Kimberly (Jimmy, II) Brown-McFadden of Monroe, LA; two grandchildren; Nodia McFadden and Jimmy McFadden III of Monroe, LA; six brothers: James (Patricia) Brown of Chicago, IL; Willie Brown, Almos(Joyce) Brown, Michael Brown, Edward (Carmin) Brown all of Augusta, AR; and Robert Brown of Jacksonville, AR; three sisters: Ruby (Grant) Long of Augusta, AR; Dr. Priscilla Ann Brown, PHD of Augusta, AR; and Brenda Brown of Searcy, AR; a brother-in-law Andrew Roshell Jr. of Rison, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 PM at Northside Church of Christ, 1206 Rightaway Road in Augusta with Bro. Paul Pollard serving as the Eulogist. Internment will take place at New Quiet Cemetery, Highway 33 North in Augusta by CJ Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870)589-5036 and Stuttgart (870)672-7100 email: williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com
