Bobby Lee Young

Bobby Lee Young, 66, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Wheatley, passed away on Saturday, May 30 at his home.

Bobby was born on August 22, 1959, in Brinkley, Arkansas to his Dewey Young and Pauline Watson-Young.

Bobby accepted Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church in Wheatley where he remained until moving he graduated high school and joining the United States Army. After relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina, he joined Injoy Ministries and served as a member of the Usher Board.

Bobby received his formal education at Wheatley Public Schools and was part of the graduating class of 1979. In June of 1979 he joined and served in the United States Army until his retirement in October 1992 with an honorable discharge. He achieved the rank Sergeant.

Bobby worked at Alltel/Verizon as a Technical Support Representative from 1992 to 2009 and as a school bus driver for Charlette/Mecklenburg County Public Schools from 2009 to 2013, when he returned to Arkansas to live.

Bobby was united in holy matrimony to Cathy Mormon in 2020.

His parents Dewy and Pauline Young, siblings Sue Gee Watson, Levon Hall, Donald Young, Leo Young, Mary Edwards, Maurice Young, and Ollie Burnett all preceded Bobby in death.

His survivors are his wife: Cathy Young of Little Rock, sons: Michael T. Young, and bonus son Anthony (Chrissey) Kent both of Charlotte, NC.; daughters: Monique (David) Hart, and Andre Faye Young both of Charlotte, NC.; grandchildren: Kennedy Hart, Carter Kent, McKenzie Kent, and Eden Young; sisters: Sandra Brown, and Velma Smith both of Little Rock, AR.; dear friend and confidant and former spouse: Kathy Young of Charlotte, NC., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitations will be held on Friday, June 5th from 6:00PM - 7:00PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations, 124 South Main St., Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 10:00 AM at the Wheatley Civic Center, 934 North 8th Street in Wheatley with Reverend Gregory D. Hughes serving as eulogist by C.J.
