Bobby Dean Larkin

Bobby Dean Larkin, 78 of DeValls Bluff, passed away on Sunday, November 16 at Maple Healthcare (Life Touch Hospice Services) Center in Hazen.

"Pippy" as Bobby was lovingly known, was born on June 9, 1947 in Conway, Arkansas, to Willie Mae Brown-Larkin and Matthew Larkin.

Bobby attended Biscoe School and left school at an early age. He later married Shirley Metcalf-Larkin on August 10, 1974. Their union was blessed with four children.

Bobby was a lifelong member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff. He served faithfully on the Usher Board and sang in the Senior Choir.

A hard worker from a young age, Bobby spent many years as a Farmer before retiring. Never one to sit idle, he later started a lawn care service, which he ran faithfully until his health declined.

His wife, Shirley Metcalf-Larkin; his parents, Matthew Larkin and Willie Mae Larkin; and his sisters: Clementine Rhoden, Loretta Hubbard, and Diane Perry all preceded Bobby Dean in death.

Survivors are: sons: Steve (Diona) Cohens of Rayville, MO; Willie Simpson of Champaign, IL; Joseph (LaTonya) Larkin, Sr., Anthony (Shelia) Larkin, Adam Larkin, and Alex Larkin all of DeValls Bluff, AR; daughters: Latina Myers of Pine Bluff, AR and Bridgette (Jariod) Larkin-Perkins of Fort Worth, TX; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Bobby Gean (Earnestine) Larkin and Harold Larkin both of Biscoe, AR; Lester Larkin of Beebe, AR; Charles (Edith) Larkin and Ricky Larkin both of DeValls Bluff, AR; three sisters: Mattie Palton of Hazen, AR and Patricia Larkin of Biscoe, AR , Dorothy Larkin of Chicago, IL; and a brother-in-law Roy Perry of Monroe, NC and a siter in law Corida Metcalf of Texarkana, AR and a host of Nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday morning November 29 from 9 AM until 11 AM at the DeValls Bluff High School Auditorium/Community Center, 710 East Sycamore Street in DeValls Bluff. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, November 29 at 11 AM at the DeValls Bluff High School Auditorium with Reverend Henry Conner serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery in DeValls Bluff by C.J.
