Barbara Lynn Jackson, 82 of DeValls Bluff, passed away on Friday afternoon, October 3 at Maple Healthcare Center in Hazen.
Barbara was born on September 20, 1943 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to Sutton Harris and Sarah Lynn Cox.
Barbara was a lifelong member of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, where she taught the Ladies Adult Sunday School and served as a member of the Usher Board. She was also a longtime member of the Northeastern District Usher Board.
Barbara received her education from the Biscoe Public School System. She was a 1961 graduate of Biscoe High School. She went on to pursue a higher education by attending Philander Smith College in Little Rock, where she earned a degree in Nursing. She was also a member of the Delta Siga Theta Sorority.
Barbara worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for more than 50 years before retiring.
Her parents preceded her in death Sutton Harris and Sarah Cox.
Survivors are her nephew: Robert (Joyce) Craig of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren: Robrelle Craig of DeValls Bluff, AR; Jessmere Craig of Virginia Beach, VA; Baylor Craig of Lonoke, AR; great grandchildren: Jaxon Craig, Brinlynn Craig and Keaton Whitmore all of DeValls Bluff, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 10 AM at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 456 East Walnut in DeValls Bluff with Reverend Joe Pumprhey serving as eulogist. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery in DeValls Bluff by C.J.
