Alice Faye Conway, 64 of Little Rock, formerly of Cotton Plant, passed away on Thursday, July 16 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.
Alice was born on Wednesday, July 19, 1961 in Brinkley, Arkansas, to Argentry Conway and Ruby Milton-Conway.
As a child, growing up in Cotton Plant, Alice or Faye as she was lovingly called by most who knew her, was baptized and attended church at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Willie Palmer. For the past 10 plus years, she has been a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Woodsen under the leadership of Reverend Alvin Pruitt.
Alice received her education from the Cotton Plant Public School system. She was a 1981 graduate of Cotton Plant High School. After relocating to Chicago, Illinois after high school, she attended Kennedy/King Community College for a time.
After returning to Arkansas in the early 1990's, Alice went to work for the Safe Harbor organization in Cotton Plant. She also worked for Phillps Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Augusta. After relocating to Little Rock to live, she went to work for Cumberland Tower Assisted Living Center.
Her daughter Tionna Grisby, her parents Argentry Conway Sr. and Ruby Conway, and twelve siblings: Larry Conway, Argentry Conway Jr., Dennis Conway, Brenda Conway, James Conway, Tomika Conway, Curtis Conway, Adam Conway, Laura Conway, Alberta Conway, Barbara Conway Shell and Dywanda Conway Bovan all preceded Alice in death.
Survivors are her son Antonio Conway of Little Rock, AR; four daughters: LaToya (Marico, Sr.) Conway-Hampton and Tena (Marquise) Taylor both of Pine Bluff, AR; Latasha Conway of Jacksonville, AR; and Tamarla Williams of Little Rock, AR; her granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter Shauntiera (Brandon, Sr.) Shepherd of White Hall, AR; her grandchildren: Semiya Hampton, Mariah Hampton, Marico Hampton Jr., and Keagan Taylor al of Pine Bluff, AR; Chaiston Conway of Jacksonville, AR; Na'Kayla Conway of Little Rock, AR and Antonio Conway Jr. of Searcy, AR; great grandchildren: Ava Shepherd, Ariyah Shepherd and Brandon Shepherd Jr all of White Hall, AR; brothers: Rickey (Mary) Conway, Roy Conway and Dewayne Conway Sr. all of Little Rock, AR and Glenn (Pam) Conway of Douglasville, GA; sisters: Betty Benson of Little Rock, AR; Lacressia Conway of Cotton Plant, AR; and Wendy Roddy of Fort Worth, TX; her dear friends and acquaintances: Earnestine Tucker, Josephine Bunch, Essie Broadus, Ruth Floyd, and Dorothy "Dot" Harris all of Cotton Plant, AR; Linda Hernandez of Riverdale, GA; Melvin Kelley of Little Rock, AR; Sister D. Childress of Batesville, AR and Mary Ann Gregory of Hazen, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday afternoon, July 31 from 6 PM until 8 PM at C.J. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 124 South Main Avenue in Brinkley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1 at 2:30 PM at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive in Brinkley with Reverend Eddie Bunch serving as Eulogist . Interment will take place at Morning Star Cemetery in Cotton Plant by C.J.
