Adell Summers, 97, of Wheatley, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, at The Springs of Brinkley Convalescent Center in Brinkley.
Adell was born on February 29, 1929, in Wheatley, Arkansas to Cleveland Reed and Emma Richards-Reed.
Adell received a formal education in the Wheatley Public Schools.
Adell accepted Christ at an early age and became a lifelong member of Church of God (formerly, Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church) in Wheatley.
Adell was united in holy matrimony to Ivory Summers.
Adell was employed as a Domestic for many years. She worked for the Dubb Carter family, Betty Wheeler Family and Sherby Long family before retiring in the early 1990's.
Her husband: Ivory Summers; parents: Cleveland and Emma Reed; children: James Jenkins, Roy Summers Love, Beulah Blocker, and Emma Woods; grandchildren: Taneka Smith Rico Doly and Roy Dale Summers; siblings: Glen Reed, Houston Reed, Bufford Reed and Oliver Reed all preceded her in death.
Her survivors are her daughters: Rosie Morris of Brinkley, AR., Christine (James) Bunch of Cordova, TN, and Mary L. (Willie) Terry of Greenville, MS.; sister in law: Larsie Reed of Brinkley, AR.; special niece: Dora May "Sue" Reed of Brinkley, AR.; special cousin: Opheredas Wright of Atlanta, AR., and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 11:00AM at Church of God, 105 Memphis Avenue in Wheatley with Pastor Willford W. Banks serving as eulogist. Interment will be held at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Wheatley by C.J. Williams Funeral Directors and Cremations of Brinkley (870) 589-5036 and Stuttgart (870) 672-7100 email: williamsfuneraldirectors2022@gmail.com
